Feeding the Future: MyHelp-YourHelp Foundation’s Commitment to Street Children in Accra
Accra, Ghana | July 27, 2024
To mark our 6th anniversary as MyHelp-YourHelp Foundation, we embarked on a special outreach program dedicated to one of Ghana’s most vulnerable groups—street children. With love, purpose, and unity, we hit the streets of Accra to bring hope, nourishment, and dignity to children who have been forgotten by many, but not by us.
What We Did
Driven by our mission to serve the less privileged, we:
- Distributed nearly 1,000 food packs to street children across Accra
- Reached major areas, starting from the National Theatre, through the Accra Retail Centre to Madina Zongo Junction.
- Engaged children with compassion, sharing not just meals but moments of joy and encouragement

What Was in the Food Packs?
Each child received:
- Jollof rice, fried rice, and plain rice with grilled chicken
- Bottled water and soft drinks
- A warm smile and a kind conversation from our volunteers
These meals were not just about food—they were about love, recognition, and restoring a sense of worth.

Impact & Appreciation
Streetism, caused by poverty, abuse, parental death, and neglect, affects tens of thousands of children in Accra alone.
A census conducted between 2007 and 2011 revealed that over 61,000 children were living on the streets of Accra, with a significant number migrating from Ghana’s Savannah and Northern Regions. Nearly 29% of these children originated from the Northern Region alone.

Our outreach, titled “Feed a Child, Save a Life,” directly responded to this crisis, affirming our alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goal 2 – Zero Hunger and the biblical call in Matthew 25:35:
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink…”

Why We Do What We Do
The MyHelp-YourHelp Foundation is a Christian nonprofit made up of passionate professionals united by a shared commitment to social impact. Since 2018, we’ve executed over 21 transformative projects across Ghana—feeding the hungry, supporting orphans, widows, prisoners, and reaching underserved communities.
We believe that children are the future, and no child should grow up on the streets—hungry, invisible, or hopeless.
A Word from Our Founder
“Street children are not statistics. They are lives, stories, and dreams waiting to be nurtured. We feed them not just to fill stomachs but to restore dignity and give them a glimpse of what love feels like.”
Quoting Matthew 25:40, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me,” he reminded volunteers of the divine significance of service.
